Today, Iceland celebrated the Day of Responsible Tourism. Hey Iceland attended the celebration because this is a matter very close to our heart. We at Hey Iceland are an active participant in the development of Iceland’s tourism industry and recognize our responsibility in being part of the solution. We are therefore always seeking ways to improve the impact we have on our surroundings and performances in cooperation with the tourist industry, our members, employees, and partners. We were also one of the founding members of the project Responsible Tourism in Iceland.

The travel agency was founded by farmers in 1980, the Icelandic Farm Holidays Association, and is still majority-owned by the farmers themselves, meaning that profits stay local!  

So we are honoured, humbled, grateful and happy that our hard work has been recognised and Hey Iceland has been awarded a motivational award for being an exemplary company in responsible tourism in Iceland. We are proud to hear that our efforts have inspired others to do well and put sustainability and responsible tourism as their guiding light.
