Accommodation
Hotel Hafnarfjall has 8 double rooms with private/en-suite bathrooms and entrances on the lower floor. On the upper floor, there are 4 double rooms and 2 triple rooms with hand basin and a shared bathroom, 1 triple room with a private/en-suite bathroom that can accommodate up to 5 people and 1 apartment with a private bathroom that can accommodate a family of 4-6. The apartment has one bedroom, spacious living room, a small kitchen and a balcony facing out to sea. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. TV in the lobby area.
Accommodation is also available in 3 small cottages (27 m2) with kitchen facilities, bathroom, TV and Wi-Fi connection. Each cottage comes with a private veranda. View´s to the mountains and the ocean. Each cottage has one double bed (160x200 cm) and a sofa bed (150x200 cm).

A daily breakfast with a focus on traditional Icelandic and locally sourced ingredients. Licensed bar. For lunch and dinner, there are many options in the town of Borgarnes, short distance away across the bay bridge.
Golf and fishing
The nearby town of Borgarnes (3 km) has a good geothermal swimming pool, cafés, restaurants, playgrounds and museums. Borgarnes is also a great base for those keen on golfing and fishing. An 18-hole golf course is located 4 km outside Borgarnes and three other golf courses are located in the Borgarfjörður area. Fishing is possible in nearby rivers and lakes. Guided glacier tours and caving explorations are available in the area as well.
Sagas and hiking
The Settlement Centre in Borgarnes features two regular exhibitions with audio guides available in 10 different languages. One exhibition is about the settlement of Iceland and the other interprets the well known Egil's Saga. In the Borgarnes region there are several interesting and well-marked hiking trails. The mountain above Hotel Hafnarfjall is sure to tempt anyone interested in a vigorous climb and enjoying a breathtaking view from the top!
Hot springs, waterfalls and green valleys
Borgarfjörður district is known for its numerous attractions. A day tour by car from Hotel Hafnarfjall is a perfect way to experience the splendid farming community and scenic countryside. Deildartunguhver, Europe's largest hot spring (water volume per sec.) and Krauma geothermal baths are just 35 km away. A little further up the road, one can visit Reykholt, one of Iceland's most historic sites, the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls and Húsafell, a popular summer resort with marked hiking trails, golf course and a small geothermal pool. There is also an activity center on location offering glacier tours, ice tunnel tours, horseback riding, lava caving and nature baths.
Glacier tours and cave explorations
Langjökull Glacier is a little more than an hour's drive from Hotel Hafnarfjall. During summer, tours onto the glacier are offered in specially equipped super jeeps. It is also where you will find the renowned Into the Glacier tour exploring the largest man made ice tunnel in the world. Iceland's longest lava cave, Surtshellir, (1,310 m) is some 15 km from Húsafell. Víðgelmir, Iceland's largest cave and one of largest lava caves in the world is also in the area. It is protected by law but guided tours are available from Fljótstunga farm.
