Itinerary

Day 1 | Reykjavík

Welcome to Iceland! Pick up your rental car at Keflavík airport upon arrival. Depending on your arrival time, visit the spectacular Blue Lagoon Geothermal Spa (must be booked in advance), located only 20 minutes drive from the airport by car. Then drive to Reykjavik and feel the good vibes of the city for yourself and visit one of the city’s greatest museums, art galleries, concept stores, concert venues, outdoor geothermal pools… and much more. In our humble opinion, a visit to Reykjavík is not complete without a foodie experience in one of the numerous top-notch restaurants and inviting cafés.

Day 2 | The South - inland and coast

Visit Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great historical and geological importance, the Geysir hot spring area with its fabulous erupting Strokkur and the beautiful two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall. Head to the South Coast travelling through the green farmland area known for one of Iceland's most popular Sagas, Njal's Saga. Visit the LAVA Center volcano, a thrilling volcano exhibition. View Seljalandsfoss Waterfall which you can also walk behind if you wish! Continue to the magnificent waterfall and interesting folk museum at Skógar, admiring the vast black sands and tall cliffs along the way.

Day 3 | Vatnajökull National Park

Enjoy the wonderful glacier vistas and many walking and hiking options at Skaftafell. Marvel at the floating icebergs at the glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón. Various types of glacier tours on Vatnajökull Glacier can be booked in advance.

TripAdvisor reviews

Amazing road trip! Icelandic Farm Holidays (as Hey Iceland was known then) was helpful in all the queries we had and all our bookings were done without hassle and our queries were answered no matter how small. Our stay and our trip to Iceland was great. People were friendly. We drove around 2600 Kms and there were hardly any hassles in figuring out our way. Would love to be back in Iceland sometime again!
