You may have heard about the mysterious Icelandic trolls, but have you heard about troll tapas?
Kaffi Vinyll, the restaurant at Fossatún, farmer‘s guesthouse in Borgarfjörður town in West Iceland, offers a special homemade dish of "troll tapas“ – a mix of different types of rye bread canapés and tapas dishes made from fresh local ingredients. Also on offer are homebaked bread, cakes and hot and cold beverages.
The restaurant has extended its opening season and will be open every weekend in April and May 2012 from 11:00-17:00. A special lunch menu of troll tapas and soup is on offer for only 1,400 ISK. The restaurant also plans to offer troll tapas in the evenings during summer, from 24 May 2012.
At Kaffi Vinyll one can also find the owner‘s collection of 3,000 LPs which guests are welcome to browse and listen to. Another good idea is to go for a "troll walk“, play a few "troll games“ or simply enjoy the view of the Troll Falls and Mt. Skessuhorn from the restaurant. The show "Acoustic Iceland“ is also on every lunchtime.
